How
Does It Work? |
| |
| Step
1: Select A Product That Meets Your Needs |
Calculate your personal instant quote. It takes
only seconds, and there is plenty of help, product and insurance company
information available for your review. Should you have any additional
questions, email us at support@afpinsurance.com,
and our customer support team will be happy to answer all your questions.
Once you determine the company and guaranteed product that best meets
your needs, simply click on the "get application" button
to go to our secure server where you can complete an online application
request for the product and plan you have selected. |
| |
| Step 2: Application
and Paramedical Exam |
Within 24 hours of your
request, American Financial Partners will email an application packet
containing formal state approved applications and other forms (as
required) needed to complete your application for insurance. You will
need to complete and sign these forms and fax them to us at 866-728-0523
(toll-free).
Within several days of your application request, A trained medical
professional will contact you to arrange a brief medical exam. The
paramedic will visit you at a convenient location -- at work or home
-- to conduct a routine, no cost physical examination. To protect
your privacy, your exam results will be sent directly to the insurance
company.
Important:
The life insurance company cannot begin
their review until all application questions, all supplemental forms
and your medical exam have been received.
|
| |
| Step
3: Underwriting Approval and Policy Delivery |
The Life Insurance company
will review your application package and medical exam results. In
many cases they can approve your policy with this information. However,
in some instances, they may need additional medical records and information
from your physician prior to making their decision.
With most major insurance companies, the final decision on your eligibility
for insurance will take from six to eight weeks from the receipt of
your completed application, medical exam and any other required information.
The greatest delay most often occurs when the life insurance company
requests additional health information directly from your physician
(they are paid for this information, but often slow in responding
to requests.)
Throughout this underwriting period we'll provide you with real-time
weekly status reports via email, or you can request an up-to-date
underwriting status report by calling us at 800-644-2651 ext. 4 which
is our underwriting department.
Once all the information is received from all the various sources,
the insurance company decision will be conveyed to us. We will contact
you with the details of the insurance company's decision.
If your policy is acceptable, then you will remit your initial premium
payable to the insurance company. Coverage will be "in force"
when the insurance company receives your premium payment and any required
forms of acceptance.
